About Our Program

We have been in the cattle business for 40 years and have been breeding Beefmaster cattle for 26 years.  Our herd originated from the upgrading program along with purchases from other select breeders.  Improvements in quality and consistency are made each year with the use of high caliber herd sires mated to our Hood bred cows, along with a strategic A.I. program.  Our main focus is producing both purebred and commercial herd sires and females that meet and exceed the demands of the cattle industry.  We have red and black beefmaster genetics in our herd in order to meet the demands of our commercial bull market, as well as the purebred market.

About Our Cattle

Our cattle have been selected for the six essentials along with two other essentials, consistency and profitability.  All of our females must have excellent udders, flawless structure, and raise a marketable calf every year.  Our bulls are bred for clean sheaths, expressive muscle patterns, explosive growth, and early fertility.  We utilize weights and measures, EPD's, ultrasound data and voluntary classification to further enhance our ability to select the right genetics.  We run around 100 females of which about 40% are polled.  Genetics currently in use include Blacksmith (black polled), Ironman (homozygous black), Repo (black-polled), Profit (red-scurs), AC-DC (red).
